She was a guest performer on the season finale of Idol Philippines on Saturday when 16-year-old Zephanie Dimaranan took the show’s title.
Jessica, just 16 when she competed on Idol, sang “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” one of the songs she brilliantly covered during her run on the show.
Of more note for Jessica fans might be the fact that she has new music out, and you’re not going to find it by searching for Jessica Sanchez.
She’s going by Jes, these days. She’s working on a debut EP under that name. She’s writing her own music. And she’s released two singles so far — “Love You” and “Angels” last month.
Jessica, who turns 24 on Aug. 4, explained the name change to PhilStar.com earlier this year.
“I needed a completely fresh start. I’ve been through a lot in my journey with my career so a new beginning was necessary, like a rebirth. I’ve learned a lot about myself through all these experiences and I think that this new Jes is the real me.”
Here’s snippets of those two songs. Keep up with the new Jes through her Instagram and Facebook page. Those links haven’t changed.
