Jordin Sparks hasn’t exactly been keeping a low profile in recent months.
But in terms of new music … well, fans haven’t had much to listen to.
Jordin released her sophomore album four years ago, way back in 2009.
Since then we’ve gotten one single — “I Am Woman” in 2011 — and a couple of tracks on the “Sparkle” soundtrack.
Well, the silence has been broken. Jordin unveiled a new single Thursday called “Skipping a Beat.”
It’s a love song, and the title refers to a guy who makes her heart skip a beat.
One would presume it was inspired by her relationship with fellow pop singer Jason Derulo.
“You got my heart skipping like I’m playing hop scotch,” Jordin sings. “Hoping I’m the one you’ll want to put the rock on.”
With lots of doom doom da das mixed in.
No word on when this song will be available on iTunes.
But the Jordin-Jason relationship is still going strong.
She tweeted today: “Happy anniversary to my love jasonderulo! 2 years down, 103 more to go!”
If you haven’t heard the tune, here it is.
