Four years after announcing the hiatus of her previous band, Lelia Broussard is back with a new single from her current project.
Jupiter Winter, featuring Lelia and Royce Whittaker, released “Come Back” on Friday. Judging from social media, it’s the first in a number of singles fans can expect from the group.
Lelia met Royce while on tour with Secret Someones in 2015. When Secret Someones broke up, she moved from Brooklyn to L.A. to be closer to him and family.
Jupiter Winter actually released a debut single — an anti-Trump anthem called “The Resistance” — in the summer of 2017.
Which means single number two was a long time coming, Lelia admits, calling it an “especially especially intense period of creating and learning.
“Royce and I have been working on our project @jupiterwinterband for so long. There were so many times through this process that I have doubted pretty much everything about myself, but after many dark nights of the soul and literal blood sweat and tears it’s finally feeling like it’s gotten to a place where we’re both really proud and excited to bring this music baby into the world.”
Lelia was a Season 3 contestant on The Voice who also released an impressive array of solo work before becoming part of Secret Someones.
