Season 9 American Idol contestant Katie Stevens would like to be part of the pilot for a new TV show.
And she and the production team are hoping you’ll be willing to help fund that pilot.
The TV show would be called Rock Way, about teenagers growing up in a Pennsylvania town. Think 90210 in 2013.
The lead character is a high school junior who leads a privileged life. Until it’s disclosed that his father helped finance that privileged life by embezzling from those around him.
Katie — aka Katherine Mari Stevens for acting purposes — would play the role of Carter Allen, a friend of that high school junior.
Jordan Ross, creator of the program, has launched a $50,000 KickStarter campaign to finance the pilot.
The campaign runs through April 6 and has raised more than $12,500 so far.
Head here and you can hear Katie and her cast mates talk about the project.
Katie finished eighth on Season 9 of Idol and is now 20 and not that far removed from high school herself.
We’ve yet to get a debut album from her, but she posts covers of popular songs pretty frequently on her YouTube channel.
