Kayko, Abi Carter and Triston Harper scored the most popular performances on American Idol’s last two episodes.
That’s based on views of their performances on YouTube and Facebook.
Kayko turned the trick with his exuberant performance of “Somebody I Used to Know” on Monday’s show.
It was the most-watched performance from that night, wracking up more than 3000,000 views on Facebook alone.
And it came a night after Kayko apparently failed to enthrall fans with his performance of Radiohead’s “High and Dry.”
Fans’ favorite performances from Sunday’s Top 14 show were Triston’s fun, show-opening cover of “Heartbreak Hotel” and Abi Carter’s stirring, show-closing rendition of “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”
As of Friday afternoon, Abi’s performance led in YouTube views. As of late Friday night, Triston led in Facebook views with Abi close behind.
What do the numbers mean in terms of fan support?
It’s hard to say. Jayna Elise’s cover of “I Have Nothing” was one of the most popular on Sunday.
On Monday, fans failed to reward her with enough votes to make the Top 10.
To me, the biggest surprise in the numbers is the lack of love for Julia Gagnon’s cover of “Something in Orange” from Monday’s show.
She delivered the best vocal of the night. In fact, it wasn’t even close. Yet her performance ranked as the fifth most views on YouTube and the eighth most views on Facebook.
Coming up: The last week of Sunday and Monday episodes of Idol. On Sunday, the Top 10 will sing songs from their birth years. On Monday, they’ll select one of three songs suggested for them by the Idol judges as the field drops to a Top 7.
The YouTube and Facebook stats for last Sunday and Monday appear below.
