The impressive “Love You Goodbye” dropped Friday, showed up on the Apple Music pop singles chart and had been streamed about 13,000 times on Spotify as of Tuesday night.
“I love cheesy 80’s power ballads so much so I figured I’d make my own ‘kayko-fied,” Kayko says.
“The song is about loving someone so much, but you know you have to end it. You try to enjoy one last moment, but you know that your time is already up.”
Kayko performed a number of originals during his run on Idol and recently celebrated 1 million streams “Time of Your Life,” a song he released prior to Idol and performed during his audition.
He’s also announced a Time of Your Life tour, with 14 dates planned between late August and late September.
And this weekend, he’ll be performing at the Franklin Summer Bash in Franklin, Tenn., along with several of his Season 22 Idol colleagues — Mia Matthews, Kaibrienne, McKenna Faith Breinholt, Quintavious and Maddi Jane from the most recent season of The Voice.
