Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood each landed two nominations for the 40th American Music Awards, set for Nov. 18 on ABC.

The Voice coach Christina Aguilera was on hand in Los Angeles to announce the nominees … and the fact that she’ll be performing on the show.

Kelly is nominated for favorite pop/rock female artist alongside Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. She’s nominated for favorite adult contemporary artist along with Adele and Train.

Carrie is nominated as favorite female country artist; her competition will be Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.

Her latest album, “Blown Away,” is up for favorite country album, along with Luke Bryan’s “Tailgates & Tanlines” and Lionel Richie’s “Tuskegee.”

By the way, for whatever it says, coaches/mentors/judges on singing shows have more nominations than former contestants.

Nicki has four alone. She’s also nominated as favorite rap/hip-hop artist and favorite album in the rap/hip-hop and pop/rock categories.

And Maroon 5, featuring Adam Levine, is up for artist of the year, favorite band or group in the pop/rock category and favorite album in the pop/rock category.

Awards are determined by fan voting. Go here for the complete list of nominees.
