Kelly Clarkson makes a triumphant return to American Idol

Kelly Clarkson made a triumphant return to the American Idol stage Wednesday night.

She sang her current hit, “The Heartbeat Song.” She covered “At Last,” the song she auditioned way back in 2002.

She called Harry Connick Jr. a bad dad for not bringing his children to the performance to meet her.

And she joked about it later, tweeting: “haha! Now this means you and your kiddos have to come see me on tour this summer! Then you will be #RadDad #Duet??”

Here are photos from Kelly’s appearance on the show that made her famous, and that she helped make famous.
