Hey, guess who just hit Billboard Hot 100 chart?

That’s right, Kris Allen, season eight winner of American Idol.

The debut single from his upcoming album, “Live Like We’re Dying,” debuts at number 89 on the Hot 100.

Now, that’s not exactly an earth-shattering chart debut. But for perspective, let’s remember that Carrie Underwood’s latest single debuted at 96 three weeks ago and Kelly Clarkson’s current single also debuted at number 89.

Elsewhere on the music charts:

Kelly Clarkson: Speaking of Ms. Clarkson, that current single, ”Already Gone,” has now climbed all the way to number 23 on the Hot 100. It has also cracked the top 20 on Billboard’s pop songs chart, checking in at number 19. Meanwhile, the “All I Ever Wanted” album dropped to 100 on the Billboard 2000, down from 79.

Daughtry: Twelve weeks after its release, “Leave This Town” drops to 41 on the Billboard 200, down from 28. The single, “No Surprise,” is still number 20 on the pop songs chart (down from 14) and number 41 among the Hot 100 singles (down from 34).

Kellie Pickler: Album number two from the North Carolina gal has had a pretty long run on the Billboard 200. It’s now number 180, down three spots from a week ago. And her CD has re-entered the top 40 on the country album chart, checking in at number 31 this week.

Jordin Sparks: A week ago, Jordin was the only former Idol contestant with a top 10 single on one of Billboard’s charts. That’s not the case this week. “Battlefield” drops from number seven to number 11 among pop songs; it’s also number 35 on the Hot 100, down 10 spots from last week. The album of the same name has shown far less traction to date. It’s down another 32 spots this week, to 157 on the Billboard 200, 11 weeks after its release.

Carrie Underwood (AP Photo)Phil Stacey: Phil’s first Christian album has yet to crack the top 25, but the single, “If You’re Not Shaken,” re-enters the top 20 on the Christian songs chart this week at number 19. It was number 21 a week ago.

Carrie Underwood: And, this week, the distinction of having the only top 10 Idol single goes to the season four winner. “Cowboy Casanova” is now number eight on the country songs chart, just five weeks after its relese. It’s number 14 on the Hot 100 after peaking at number 11 last week.
