Recent post-American Idol releases include new songs from Lauren Alaina, Granville Automatic and Sam Woolf.

What’s more, both Lauren and Granville Automatic have EPs coming out soon.

Below is a bit about each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.

* Lauren Alaina from Season 10 has released a duet with Jon Pardi called “Getting Over Him.” As in getting over him by embarking on a fling with another guy. The song is one of six that will be featured on Lauren’s upcoming EP by the same title, due out Sept. 4. The collaboration wasn’t the first between the country artists. Lauren is featured on Jon’s single “Don’t Blame It on the Whiskey.” “His energy is so amazing,” Lauren said of Jon in a press release. “I can’t believe I have a rebound song – but I do.” “Getting Over Him” follows “Run” as the second track released from the upcoming EP.

* Granville Automatic also has an EP coming out, “Tiny Televisions” on Sept. 11. And the songwriting duo of Elizabeth Elkins and Vanessa Olivarez from American Idol Season 2 recently released “Monsters in the Stars,” the second song from that project. It’s about the ghosts of the Native Americans forced to endure the Trail of Tears, which saw 60,000 members of multiple tribes forced out of the southeast to areas west of the Mississippi River. Of that number, 4,000 perished making the trip of shortly thereafter. It follows “Ice Cream,” a song about Sarah Estell, one of Nashville’s first African-American business owners.

* Sam Woolf from American Idol Season 13 released his first single of 2020, “Ease My Mind,” earlier this month. “In times like these, it’s not so easy to see the bright side,” Sam notes, calling the new single “a hopeful love song about feeling lost, yet knowing whatever it is you’re going through, it will all play out how it’s supposed to.” Sam finished fifth on Idol.
