Add Lauren Alaina to the growing list of singing show contestants planning to release new music in January.

In Lauren’s case, her sophomore album — “Road Less Traveled” — is set for release on Jan. 27.

And, yep, it’s been a while since the American Idol Season 10 runner-up released an album.

In fact, Lauren worked it out on her Facebook page — “5 years, 3 months, and 16 days between my first album and my second. I worked so hard on this new music. I can’t wait to share it with you,” she writes.

Lauren did release an EP back in October 2015. And if you downloaded that, you already have four of the songs that will be included on the new album.

The good news is that Lauren has a hand in writing all 12 tracks on “Road Less Traveled” compared to one co-write on her debut album.

Her collaborators include Meghan Trainor, who helped pen the title track, and another former Idol contestant, Felicia Barton, who helped write the album-ending “Pretty.”

“These songs are a true representation of who I am, where I’ve been and where I’m going,” Lauren says is a press release announcing the release. “This album has pushed me to accept who I am and be 100% honest about it.”

“Road Less Traveled” is turning out to be Lauren’s biggest hit to date. This week, it’s number 18 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and number 23 on the Hot Country Singles chart. Both are peaks, meaning the song could climb higher.

Lauren’s also set to tour with Martina McBride in the new year. You can check out already announced dates on that Facebook page. The tour includes stops in the Philly area (March 3) and Wilkes Barre (March 11).
