The song ranked No. 2 on my list of favorites released by former American Idol contestants in 2013.

I’m pretty sure the video will make my list of favorites for 2014.

Lee DeWyze has released a video for “Fight” from his 2013 album “Frames.”

As in one you tuck away and play on a bad day, because it’s sure to make you smile.

In the video, Lee and real-life wife Jonna Walsh are rag dolls.

Lee flubs their anniversary; Jonna gets mad. Lee decides to make it up by taking Jonna on a romantic date.

Let’s just say things go horribly awry.

Lee wrote and directed the video with Nickelodeon graphic artist Andrew Michael Golden and answered questions about it on a Reddit session with fans earlier this week.

“I have always wanted to get my feet wet in making videos,” he wrote. “This was my first go at it, and I have to say I’m glad i did. Working with my friend Andrew on this was a learning process for sure, but we got our minds around it really quickly and once we started going it was hard to stop.”

Lee said the concept for the video was his; he wanted to make something people hadn’t seen before.

“So I started playing around with stop motion. Then my friend Andrew and I began messing around with Live Action, and that’s when the magic started to happen!”

And what did Jonna think of the end result?

“Her reaction was all I hoped for, she loved the video!” Lee wrote.
