Maddie Poppe has released her fourth single since winning American Idol Season 16

Sure is.

Maddie released “Made You Miss” Friday, a song about a guy who’s come to miss the gal he’s no longer with.

It’s the latest release off Maddie’s upcoming post-Idol debut album, set for release May 17.

Maddie shared the story behind the song on Instagram.

“The morning of my last day in L.A., I walked into the studio not knowing what to expect. I felt like I was out of ideas and didn’t know what we could REALLY get accomplished in one day,” she recalls.

“Well, my expectations were exceeded greatly when I walked in and heard this song. Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan and Sam Roman had written ‘Made You Miss’ a while back but hadn’t cut it with anyone yet, so we decided we’d give it a shot!

“This is a very special song to me because it came just as I was finishing up the album, and once I heard it, I knew it must be the icing on the cake. I’m really proud of this one! I had so much fun recording and working with these incredibly talented and successful guys, and it’s such an honor that I get to call this my song.”

It also means we’ve already gotten about half an album from Maddie, who’s also released “Moving On,” “Little Things” and “First Aid Kit” since scoring a hit with her Idol victory song, “Going, Going, Gone.”
