Ainae is among the artists to announce that they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Ainae.

* She’s Ainae Nielson, a Washington, D.C., based singer and songwriter.

* According to her web bio, she was raised in southeast D.C. and eventually began turning the poetry she wrote into music with a mix of pop, R&B and hip-hop influences.

* She graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School and attends Howard University, where she’s studying marketing, according to her Facebook page.

* Ainae has already released a good deal of music, beginning with a single called “Full Plate” in 2017.

* Her other releases include an EP called “Contort” in 2018 and the singles “Dragon Heart Lemonade,” “Summertime Fine,” “Girls” and “Here Tonight.” Check out “Summertime Fine” below.

” “Here Tonight” was Ainae’s only release in 2020. There’s also a music video that you can check out on Ainae’s YouTube channel.

* “Contort” includes a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and she posted a more recent cover of the song, thanking Dolly for donating to Vanderbilt University for COVID research.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.

'Treasure' indeed
