American Idol Season 15

Meet Amelia Eisenhauer of American Idol Season 15

samurai sword Amelia Eisenhauer showed off at her audition probably won’t help her become the next American Idol.

The fiddle she played or the several other instruments she plays?

That might be another matter.

At age 16, Amelia is already an experienced musician, judging from her Facebook bio.

She started taking violin lessons at age 6. She joined her first band — an all-girl bluegrass group known as The Pickin’ Chicks — at age 9.

She’s now a member of the Nashville-based Eisenhauer Band, which also includes her mother, brother and the band’s producer, Bryan Ward.

An acoustic blues group, the band released “Under the Influence,” an eight-track cover album in 2014. Those covers range from Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” to The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black.” And the Eisenhauer Band is hoping to release an album of originals sometime this year.

On Idol, Amelia auditioned with “Many Rivers to Cross” by Annie Lennox, displaying lots of power and a touch of rasp in her voice.

Jennifer Lopez called her performance “very beautiful.” Harry Connick Jr. said he likes the fact that Amelia has something of a “mysterious quality.” And the gal whose family relocated from Illinois to Nashville so she could pursue a career in music breezed to Hollywood on a 3-0 vote.

As for those instruments, Amelia not only provides lead vocals for her family band, she plays fiddle, bass and mandolin. She also plays piano and guitar, and does most of her songwriting on the latter, according to that Facebook bio.

Oh, and judging by her pre-audition interview clip, Amelia has plans bigger than American Idol.

“My dream is to have longtime success, like Led Zeppelin, and to be in my 80s and still be rocking out on stage,” she told Idol.

You can follow Amelia through Facebook and her band’s website. On Twitter, she is @AmeliaJE__.
