Ja’nae Allen figures she’s unique from most Season 11 American Idol contestants in at least two ways.
First, she’s a security guard, at age 20.
Second, “there’s not many people who are young and nuturing at my age. I have that.”
She doesn’t explain how that translates into a golden ticket, but she managed to snag one in the Galveston auditions after being prodded into trying out by family and friends.
Ja’nae is from Houston and said she started singing at age 8 in a church play.
Her favorite Idol contestant is Fantasia, especially because of the energy in her performances.
