Her audition: Brittney Lawrence, 21, of Jacksonville, Fla., auditioned with “Warrior” by Demi Lovato. Christina Aguilera turned around the first time Brittney hit a glory note. Blake Shelton joined her late in the performance. Brittney opted to join Team Blake.
Her background: Brittney says she heard her first Dixie Chicks CD when she was 5 years old. “That was it. I wanted to be a singer,” she told The Voice. She also started cheerleading when she was 5, and she’s been coaching cheerleading since she was a freshman in high school. She also works full-time for a textbook company and is studying online to become a teacher. “But out of everything I do, singing is by far my greatest passion.” She entered her first singing competition in middle school and says she’s done everything she can since to improve. Oh, and she had auditioned for The Voice six times without landing in front of the celebrity coaches.
