Cade Foehner is a contestant on the new season of American Idol.

Cade Foehner is among contestants who have announced on social media that they auditioned for ABC’s new version of American Idol.

Idol premieres March 11 with Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan as the judges who determine which singers make it to Hollywood and which don’t.

Here’s more about Cade Foehner.

Cade auditioned for Season 11 of The Voice but failed to turn a chair.

In a radio interview, he said he wasn’t devastated by that outcome and, in fact, considered it a great learning experience, especially getting to work with the show’s vocal coaches.

“I learned so much about myself as an artist and who I am as a singer,” he said at the time. “It was an amazing thing, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

He’s a classic southern rocker from Shelby, Texas, who’s also gained some acclaim for his guitar skills.

In fact, back in 2014, he took first place in the under 20 competition at the Dallas International Guitar Festival.

At the time, he was performing with Dillon Reynolds, Julian Johnson and Jayson Guzman as Johnson’s Lost Crowes. And he used his prize money to help the band record some of its originals, which you can hear on ReverbNation.

The covers on Cade’s YouTube channel are all solo. I’m most taken with his cover of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” He also does a fine version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, which I’ve embedded below.
