Chayce Beckham from American Idol Season 19

Chayce Beckham is among the artists we’re likely to meet on the second week of American Idol auditions.

Here’s more about Chayce.

* From Chino, Calif., he describes himself as a surfer, skater, singer, songwriter and fisherman on his Facebook page.

* He hasn’t released music as a solo artist yet, but has posted lots of unreleased originals to his Instagram page.

* And he’s working on the release, writes on Instagram that his project will drop sometime in 2021, but adds “I have to keep it to myself, until some other things clear up.”

* Fans have now learned that something else is his appearance on American Idol. “It was such a sick experience to audition and tell a little bit of my story!” he writes.

* As for that project, Chayce adds: “I have written what I believe is an incredible record, I put every ounce myself into those songs, and I want more than anything to release it and share it with the people that want to listen to it.”

* Chayce appears to have previously been part of a California band called Sinking Sailors, described as a punk-reggae-funk group formed by four friends who decided to make music when not surfing or skating.

* Sinking Sailors released a pair of EPs, “Take It Easy” in 2017 and “Long Sips and Bong Rips” in 2018.
