His audition: Christian Brown, 22, Franklin, Ken., performed “Wildest Dreams” by Marty Brown (his dad): Christian showed up in the audition room with his dad Marty, who released three country albums in the 1990s. And Christian delivered a fine rendition of his father’s song. Luke Bryan says he has the potential to do well on Idol. Carrie Underwood said she was surprised by his excellent vocal range. Christian sailed through to the next round with three yes votes.

* He describes himself as a 22-year-old aspiring musician who is “country through and through.” And, obviously, his dad Marty is who inspired his interest in music. Marty, by the way, released a more recent album called “American Highway” in 2019.

* And Christian’s TikTok is packed with impressive country covers by classic male artists as well as some from female country artists, like Shania Twain’s “Still the One” and Ella Langley’s new single “Choosin’ Texas.”

* He sounds equally fine singing “When You Wish Upon a Star” to his baby son. He and his wife Brenda had their first child in 2025.

* Easily Christian’s most popular cover on TikTok is a cover of “If” by the 1970s band Bread. It has more than 250,000 views. You can check it out below. Christian says his dad introduced him to the song when he was 16. “There’s no describing how I feel about this song,” he writes.

* Christian lives in Franklin, Kentucky, works as a delivery driver and is a graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.

* While Christian doesn’t appear to have released music yet, he’s apparently thinking about releasing “Wildest Dreams.” He’s posted a snippet of it on Instagram. It’s a song written by his dad and the one he auditioned with.

* He apparently took a break from performing live. In an early December Facebook post, he wrote that he’s decided he wants to get “back into the show scene” and asked fans for suggestions on where to perform.

* Christian announced his Idol audition in November, writing “Wow, what a year 2025 has been. Blessed to no end.” He also posted photos of himself with several other Season 24 contestants.
