Among the contestants we’ll meet Sunday night on American Idol is Crystal Alicea.

Sunday marks the third round of auditions on the show, with Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie deciding which singers get a golden ticket to Hollywood.

Here’s more about Crystal.

* She’s 20 and from Winter Haven, Fla.

* On YouTube, Crystal says music has been her passion since she was 10 years old.

* She entered her first talent show in eighth grade, singing a Demi Lovato song. And, no, she didn’t win.

* About five years ago she launched a YouTube channel and started posting music videos there.

* She’s never had formal training. Instead, she told a local TV station she picked up tips by watching over YouTube videos.

* Crystal previously auditioned for American Idol, passed the initial round of auditions but was cut before she got a chance to sing for the celebrity judges.

* She credits her fiance for prodding her to audition for Season 16 since they were being held in Orlando, just 45 minutes from her home.

* She took a unique approach to calming herself before it was time to perform for Katy, Lionel and Luke. She just pretended the judges “were my long-lost friends that I hadn’t seen in a very long time” and she was simply updating them on her life.
