American Idol returns with its Season 18 premiere on Sunday, Feb. 16.

And, as in other recent seasons, fans of The Voice might see some familiar faces.

One of those is Elyjuh Rene.

Here’s more about Elyjuh.

* He auditioned for Season 7 of The Voice and advanced through three rounds, making it all the way to the live playoffs and the Top 20.

* Elyjuh auditioned with Beyonce’s “XO,” turned two of the four coaches’ chairs and opted to join Team Pharrell Williams. Pharrell called him “one of the most amazing vocalists I’ve heard.”

* At the time, he was 18, living in Long Beach, Calif., and said he’d been singing since age 3 and preferred R&B and soul music with a little bit of pop.

* Elyjuh’s mom was serving as his manager at the time. She and Elyjuh’s dad divorced when Elyjuh was 4. Elyjuh said he turned to music as a coping mechanism.

* At the time, Elyjah also described himself as “an old heart,” saying that explained his love of the music of Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and Bobby Caldwell.

* He’s released just one single since then, a 2015 song called “I’m Doin’ Me” that’s still available on streaming sites. You can check it out below.

* He describes himself as a singer, songwriter and model on Instagram, but writes “music over everything” on a new Twitter account he started in December.

* While he hasn’t updated his Facebook page or YouTube channel in some time, recent covers on Instagram include “Girl of My Dreams” by Chris Brown, “Jealous” by Labrinth, and “Gravity” by John Mayer.
