Holly Brand from The Voice Season 23

Here’s more about Holly.

* She was the 2021 Miss Mississippi and just turned over her crown at a pageant last June.

* She went on to compete in the Miss America pageant on its 100th anniversary. She didn’t make the Top 10, but earned a non-finalist talent scholarship. Holly sang “House of the Rising Sun” in the talent round.

* Her goals, she said at the time, included becoming a contemporary Christian recording artist. Below, check out her cover of “Amazing Grace” from TikTok.

* She also might be the first Voice contestant to already have an iced coffee named after her before she auditioned for The Voice.

* That also happened in June when the Caffe Paradiso in Vicksburg dubbed a coffee The Holly Brand. For those wondering, it’s an iced caramel latte topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.

* Holly comes from a musical family where everyone plays at least one instrument, she told DarkHorsePressNew.com. She plays three.

* Back in 2013, at age 13, Holly successfully auditioned for Season 3 of The X Factor, getting yeses from the show’s three female judges, Paulina Rubio, Demi Lovato and Kelly Rowland.

* Simon Cowell gave her a “no.” But no problem, said Holly. “That’s okay, I’ll just work harder and practice a lot more,” she said at the time.

* In 2017, she was named Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen, and she also competed for Miss Mississippi in 2019.

* From Meridian Mississippi, she’s also a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in communications.

* In her 2021 interview with Dark Horse Press, here’s how she described the importance of music in her life. “One of my favorite quotes is ‘When words fail, music speaks,’” she said. “So whenever I’m not having a great day or I’m feeling discouraged, I just sit down at my piano and play my music and sing, and I immediately feel better.”
