Johnnie Kapua from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Johnnie:
* He’s a digital content creator of Polynesian descent living in New Zealand. He’s in his 30s.
* He shows off his wonderful deep vocals on his TikTok, where his videos have more than 200,000 likes.
* He describes himself as a “husband, father, storyteller “writing songs about life,” but he doesn’t appear to have released original music yet.
* Johnnie is the married father of three. His youngest son was born on Aug. 1. And his 6-year-old daughter Kikki sings with him while strumming her toy guitar on some of his posts
* Speaking of his youngest, his Instagram features the funniest gender reveal I’ve ever seen. Kikki was clearly not happy when the blue character won the wrestling match, though Johnny assures us she eventually came around.
* Back to music, Johnnie went viral with a 2024 appearance on the popular New Zealand podcast The Morning Shift thanks to his cover of Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One.”
* He auditioned for The X Factor New Zealand when the show debuted in that country back in 2013.
* In addition to “I’m Not the Only One,” his most popular covers on TikTok include “Shallow,” “Heartbreak Anniversary” and an absolutely lovely rendition of “Mirror” by Madison Ryann Ward.
