Jordan Anthony of American Idol Season 22

Jordan Anthony is among the artists rumored to have earned a golden ticket on American Idol Season 22.

Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, Feb. 18 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie back intact.

Here’s more about Jordan.

* He’s a young pop artist from Perth, Western Australia. And no stranger to singing competitions.

* In 2019, he auditioned for The Voice Australia at age 14 and advanced all the way to the finals, the youngest singer ever to accomplish that feat on the show.

* He nabbed the very last spot on the show that season and made the finals in spite of the fact that it was billed as an ‘all-star’ season in which past contestants returned to compete again.

* Recordings of his Voice Australia performances have been streamed more than 1 million times on Spotify, with covers of Kesha’s “Praying” (770,000 streams) and Pink’s “What About Us” (260,000) leading the way.

* “What About Us” was his audition song. And Jordan’s performance was so impressive that the three coaches with full teams gathered around Delta Goodrem’s big red chair so they could all turn around simultaneously.

* On his website, Jordan says he began writing his own songs at age 7, began busking to raise money to record them at age 11 and released his first album, “One Word,” at age 13. It features eight songs and is still available.

* He’s continued to release original music with a dozen new songs out since then, including “Favourite Part,” which just dropped on Feb. 2. Check it out below.

* On Spotify, Jordan says his idols include Guy Sebastian, Calum Scott, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Sam Smith and Shawn Mendes.

* Jordan posted several videos of time spent in L.A. months ago, but didn’t break news of his Idol audition to his fans until mid-December.

* Writes Jordan: “So out of all the things I thought I’d do in my life, auditioning for @americanidol was never something I thought could or would ever happen … BUT HERE WE ARE.”
