His audition: Joseph Soul, 34, of Hana, Hawaii, performed “Is This Love” by Bob Marley. Joseph was well into the song before Kelly and Blake turned around. Blake said he was surprised Joseph wasn’t a four-chair turn. Gwen said she’d never heard such a unique version of the song. Joseph opted to join Team Kelly.

* On Facebook, he describes himself as a solo loop artist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ.

* He’s been performing for 15 years, according to his website bio, and he’s been nominated for seven Na Hoku Hanohano awards, Hawaii’s version of the Grammys.

* He’s written and produced music for a variety of artists, including Nesian N.I.N.E., Dani Waring, Positive Motion and Tenelle, that web bio indicates.

* He’s also performed as DJ Audissey and spent time in Las Vegas as a DJ at venues such as Tryst and the VooDoo Lounge.

* In 2010, he released a 14-track album called “Overdue” as DJ Audissey. It no longer appears to be available, though you can check out the music video for one of the songs, “So in Love,” below.

* In a 2012 interview, Joseph said he got interested in DJing when he was in fifth grade and went to a friend’s house to work on a science project. The friend’s brother
was playing an endless stream of music. That intrigued Joseph, and the brother eventually taught him how to DJ.

* “I specialize in music — period,” he says in that interview. “Music is more than just a job to me. Growing up, I told myself to never stick to or hate one specific type of music. I continue to live by that today in all the clubs and festivals I perform at.”

* There’s a neat video on his Instagram page of Joseph proposing to longtime girlfriend Nicole DeVille at a show in December. She said yes.
