The American Idol judges were being such goofballs when Lovey James auditioned that we didn’t get to learn much about her.

Well, other than the fact that Lovey is her stage name and her real name is Kirsten (the spelling is a guess based on what I heard on the show).

It’s a shame we didn’t learn more, because all indications are that this young lady is well prepared for the Idol stage.

The gal from Portland, Oregon, was just 16 when her Idol audition was filmed, yet she already has 12 — yes, 12 — singles on iTunes, plus four professionally done videos.

Some of those are covers, including a nice version of “Let Her Go,” released last April.

Others are originals, including the catchy “I Can Do Anything” and the dance-able “Rollercoaster,” both of which were released last year. Check them out below.

Now 17, Lovey began performing at age 6, according to her Facebook bio, and was a competitive dancer for seven years.

She started seriously pursuing a pop music career a couple years ago, entering the Portland Teen Idol competition and doing well in 2012.

She appears to have released her first pop original, “Stupid Boy,” to iTunes in January 2013.

And, no, she doesn’t come from a musical family, Lovey said in an interview from last August, in which she also reveals she’s the third born of six children.

“My parents are like, ‘Where did you get this from?’ You do not want to hear them sing,” Lovey says, laughing.

Yep, you can add a bubbly personality to the list of reasons she could become an Idol favorite. Plus vocals like she displayed when she auditioned with Ariana Grande’s “Break Free.”

Lovey breezed through to the Hollywood round. Harry Connick Jr. praised her current sound; Keith Urban said he liked her originality.

Here’s how Lovey describes herself on Facebook: “I speak my mind through song, but sometimes I’d rather dance. I live a clean life in a messy room. I work hard, but play even harder. I am not afraid of what others think, but I really hope you like me on Facebook. I can sing with my mouth closed, can you? You should try it. I wear contacts but my future is clear! I am a realistic dreamer. I am fun loving and fun to love. With my friends and family behind me, I can’t be stopped. I am stronger than I think I am. I am Lovey James.”

Now, here are some Lovey links, followed by that promised music.
