Here’s more about Megan.
* Her parents divorced when she was young, meaning Megan was raised by a single mom along with four other siblings.
* She works as a waitress, dishwater and cashier at Landmark Market in Douglasville. Her mother manages the restaurant; Megan’s grandmother and sister also work there.
* Megan told Voice Views she doesn’t come from a musical family, but has always loved music and turned to it when coping with her parents’ divorce.
* That divorce “made me feel so hopeless, sad, and lonely. So, I decided to start singing. It brought me peace. Ever since, I’ve connected with music more than anything in my life,” she explained.
* She said her first public performance was when she was 15 years old and was at another restaurant in Douglasville.
* While she loves all genres, Megan says she typically sings country, R&B and soul.
* She says her musical inspirations include Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert and Christina Aguilera.
* Megan says she’s never had a performance anything like The Voice blind audition, usually performing at open mic nights attended by 50 to 60 people.
* She’s a student at Douglas County High School.
