Harry Connick Jr. says American Idol is looking for more personality from its top contestants in Season 14.

Well, Priscilla Barker certainly won the competition for most personable auditioner from Wednesday night’s Season 14 premiere.

She sang pretty darn well, too. Well enough to get one of those coveted golden tickets to Hollywood after her performance of Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn.”

In her pre-performance clip, Priscilla said: “People describe me as a very bubbly, outgoing person. Spunky, I guess you could say.”

She certainly didn’t seem intimidated by auditioning in front of the Idol judges.

In fact, she was so wrapped up in making sure her mom got to meet Keith Urban, she started asking about that before she even learned whether she had earned her golden ticket.

Perhaps the lack of nerves stems from the fact that she’d been there before. The 19-year-old from Amory, Mississippi, also earned a golden ticket in Season 13 after auditioning with “Jackson” by Johnny Cash, and “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts.

That audition was not aired, meaning Priscilla’s already doing better in Season 14.

In a January 2014 interview with her hometown newspaper, Priscilla said she’s been traveling back and forth between her home and Nashville to co-write, perform and make connections in the music industry.

You’ll also find a single from her on iTunes — “Slow Town,” a song she co-wrote, which was released in 2012 and which you can listen to below.

In her 2014 Road to Hollywood video, Priscilla said: “I think my personality will set me apart … When I’m onstage, I love to have fun because music’s what I love to do.”
