In fact, in that role her website says she worked with the likes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Rihanna, Ciara and Alicia Keys.
“I just started to feel like a ceiling was hitting my head in the dance game,” Sharaya says in a promo clip for “The Four” on FOX. “I knew in my heart it was time to make a change, and that’s what I did.”
Born in Hawaii and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, Sharaya J is now a hip-hop artist with more than a half dozen singles to her credit, including two released earlier this year.
Hip-hop music comes naturally for Sharaya. She says she been rapping since she was a little girl. Her father was part of the 1990s hip-hop group the Double XX Posse.
Sharaya also says she’s had the good fortune to be mentored by Missy Elliott. According to her website, Sharaya started her own company, BANJI Entertainment, and recently signed a music deal with with Para Music Group of New York City.
She’ll also be one of the original four when “The Four” on FOX returns for Season 2 Thursday night.
Released music: She has no fewer than eight singles available on iTunes, including two — “Say Less” and “Go Sis” — from earlier this year. She’s also a featured vocalist on a song called “Likki Likki” by Lu Brown that was released in February. Those eight singles date back to 2013. You can check out music videos for “New Wave” and “Go Sis” below.

Ali Caldwell you are a very talented young lady. I think you may need some home training in proper equitte. When James extended his hand to you in support, you shunned it and the camera picked this rude gesture up. You lost me as a fan because this showed me the real you!
