His blind audition: Talon Cardon, 18, of Orem, Utah, auditioned with “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur. He was nearly to the end of the performance when a big glory note enticed a chair turn from John Legend. Because he was the only coach to turn, Talon automatically joined Team Legend.

More about Talon …

* He works as a waiter at a China Kitchen restaurant where he says he does a little of everything, from greeting guests to making food order deliveries.

* Talon told The Voice he bought his first guitar when he was 12, starting taking guitar lessons and had written two songs by the time he was 14.

* A year later, he joined three cover bands and started traveling all over Utah performing.

* His parents split when he was very young and he grew up with his mom, but eventually became closer to his dad, a police officer.

* When Talon was 16, he says his dad was in a car crash “where a wanted guy hit him with his car going about 100 miles per hour. “It’s like a miracle that he’s alive,” Talon said.

* Talon said having that experience — almost losing a parent — made it easy for him to connect to his blind audition song, “Say You Won’t Let Go.”

* Talon has released one song, a cover of Maroon 5’s “Girl Like You” with Lillian Hepler last summer.

* He has two impressive originals — “Love True” and “Melody” — on YouTube.

* This marks his second shot at a singing show. He tried out for Season 16 of American Idol, but was cut in the Denver auditions.
