We’re left with 12 singers — seven guys and five gals — to duke it out for Season 9 title.
With four country singers and three female singer-songwriters types among the 12, it’s hardly the most diverse field of finalists The Voice has ever featured.
But it’s a cast that’s clearly catching on with fans. Jordan Smith and Emily Ann Roberts cracked the Top 10 on iTunes last week. And seven of the final 12 made it into the top 30 on the site’s overall singles chart with their live playoff songs.
The format for the next three weeks at least will be the same as the finals in past seasons. All 12 singers will perform Monday night. During an 8 p.m. Tuesday evening results shows, we’ll be presented with the three singers who landed in the bottom three via fan voting and iTunes downloads.
During the last five minutes of the show, viewers will get a chance to save one of those three contestants with an instant save. The two other artists head home.
The Season 9 finals are set for Dec. 14-15.
