His audition: Zach Bridges, 28, of Pearl, Mississippi, performed “Ol’Red” by Blake Shelton. Zach showed off a solid country tone from the start and got a pretty quick chair turn from the original singer of the song. By the midway point in the song, Gwen Stefani turned as well. Gwen said she turned because she’s a fan of the song and Blake. Blake complimented him on doing a great job with his “signature” song. Zach declined Gwen’s invite to “go crazy” and joined Team Blake.

Here’s more about Zach:

* According to his Voice bio, Zach grew up on country music, but spent much of his youth playing baseball, including two years in junior college. When he sang, it was in church.

* That changed when Zach was in college and taught himself to play guitar at age 20. In fact, one of the first songs he learned on guitar was “Ol’ Red.”

* “I picked it (the guitar) up and never put it down,” he says in an interview you can check out on his Facebook page. “For some reason I had the courage to start posting videos, and people were liking it.”

* That eventually led to writing songs and performing around his hometown. After college, he performed full-time for a while, then decided to become an x-ray technician at the local VA hospital to make ends meet, according to his Voice bio. Zach says he continues to perform two or three times a week.

* He’s also released three singles to date: “Mississippi Road” from 2013, “How It Goes Down” from 2014 and “Party” from 2017. Check out the latter below.

* Zach’s also been promoting a new single — “Drunken Kiss” — on social media, but it hasn’t landed yet. Zach told Voice Views his participation on The Voice delayed the release of some of his original music, but that he’s working on a debut EP.

* Local TV station WLBT3 covered a blind audition watch party held in Zach’s honor at the Cultivation Food Hall in Jackson, Miss., and said Zach’s wife secretly signed him up for the show.
