American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks is about to release her first album in six years.

And she served up another reminder late last week that this album won’t be nearly as pop focused as her first two.

On Friday, Jordin released “100 Years,” a sultry R&B ballad.

“I really love how this song turned out,” Jordin, now 25, told Billboard. “It’s just about, ‘One hundred years just is not enough time for me to love you. I love you so much and all these different things and 100 years just isn’t enough time.'”

Reaction to the track has been decidedly mixed on YouTube. One fan praises it as “grown funk and soul;” another labels it as “just boring, sorry.” Check out more reaction here. And you can see what you think by listening to the song below.

It’s the fourth tune Jordin has released from her upcoming “Right Here, Right Now” album, due out Aug. 21.

She already released “It Ain’t You,” the title track and the dance tune “Double Tap.”

Pre-orders for the album are underway now on iTunes and Amazon.

And Billboard reports that Jordin will be dropping a new song from the album every Friday between now and the release date.
