New post-Voice music out includes a quintet of country singles.
They come from Ashland Craft, Jordan Rager, Kaleb Lee, Abby Kasch and Cory Jackson. The latter two mark the singers’ first since the show.
The links below take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out snippets in the Spotify playlist below.
Ashland Craft, Top 10 on Season 13, released a fine new country single, her best yet, called “Your Place or Mine”. It’s about a woman so lonely and heartbroken that she’s ready for a one-night stand. Ashland wrote the song with Willie Morrison and Lee Starr. “It makes me feel something, and that’s all i could ever ask for out of my music. Hope it does the same for yall,” writes Ashland.
Abby Kasch, a Top 24 contestant on Season 16, has released her first single since the show, a country song called “Red Lip.” More new music is apparently on the way. “Red Lip” is the first release off an upcoming EP. Abby, 20 when she auditioned, released a debut EP called “L.O.V.E.” in 2016.
Jordan Rager, from Season 2, has released another in a strong of country singles. This time, it’s “The Wrong Ones.” As it relationships with individuals who turn out to be the wrong ones, but eventually lead to Mr. or Mrs. Right. Jordan wrote the song with Brent Anderson and Michael Whitworth and calls it “truly one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been apart of.”
Kaleb Lee, Top 6 on Season 14, recently released a new single called “Nothin’ on You.” He said he’s played the song for about six months at shows. Fans loved it, so he released it. And the former Team Kelly Clarkson member got to perform it on Kelly’s new talk show. It follows “Cooler Weather” and “I Need a Drink” as Kaleb third single of 2019, and an EP is on the way next year.
Cory Jackson, fresh off Season 17, has fulfilled a promise by releasing a single called “Forgive Me Anyway” and offering it as a free download this weekend for anyone who joins his fan club. To do that, just head to Cory’s website. The song will hit streaming sites in the not-to-distant future, Cory says. From Jonesboro, Ark., Cory was 24 when he auditioned for the show and landed a spot on Team Blake.
