Recently released post-Voice music includes songs from three singers we met over the past year.

Tate Brusa, from Season 18, released his debut EP Friday. Calvin Lockett and Anders Drerup recently dropped their first singles since the show.

Here’s a bit more about each of the releases.

Tate Brusa from Season 18 writes on Instagram that he “wrote some songs about some girls.” Those songs have now formed a debut EP called “46.” It features six songs, mostly acoustic, mostly about relationship, but also quite impressive. Tate delayed the release by a month because of the Black Lives Matter protests, encouraging fans to support the movement. As for the EP, he says it was “fully produced, written, mixed, engineered, and mastered in my bedroom. i couldn’t be more proud of what I’ve created.” Tate, from Salt Lake City, was 16 when he auditioned for The Voice. He made it to the knockouts before being eliminated.

Calvin Lockett from Season 17 recently released “Runaway,” his first single since the show. He says he wrote the song to stress the importance of facing difficult issues head on rather than avoiding them. “When we’re faced with issues or problems, to maintain some type of peace for the moment, we (choose) to run away,” the Durham, N.C.-based singer-songwriter says in a press release announcing the song. Calvin released the song June 26, the one-year anniversary of his Voice audition.

Anders Drerup from Season 18 has released his first two singles from the show, and he’s proof that you can’t always judge a performers from the covers they sing on the show. His first release was “Two First Kisses,” a tune with a fun, country honky tonk vibe. The latest is “MI Yonke” as Anders serves up a classic funk sound. Both are definitely worth a listen. Anders, from Austin, Texas, was 36 when he auditioned for the show.
