Several former Voice contestants released new music this week.

That includes former champ Alisan Porter, former finalist Jacquie (Lee), Christian artist Missy Robertson, Jamar Rogers and Jordy Searcy.

The links below take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets at the end of this blog.

Jacquie, runner-up on Season 5 as Jacquie Lee, released an emotional new song called “Break” on Friday. She says she started the song five years ago, when she was struggling with her artistic identity. Now 22, “still self-employed and incredibly anxious about my career,” Jacquie writes that she is much more confident in her perspective and sound. Check out her post on the story behind “Break” on Instagram.

Alisan Porter, Season 10 champ, has released a new version of the soulful “What If I Wake Up,” one of the standout tracks from her “Pink Cloud” album that dropped in September. Alisan writes that it’s a “song about love. About holding on to a moment. About cherishing time, just as it is. It’s a love song but it is also a reality check. I love this song to my core.”

Missy Robertson from Season 12 released the catchy Christian pop single “The Way He Sees You” back in September. Now she’s back with the promised five-song EP, “Reminder.” “Grace Finds Me” and “Just the Way I Was Made” are also excellent tracks. Missy, worship leader at E2 Church in Nashville, has also released a full album, “The Worship Project,” since The Voice.

Jamar Rogers, Top 8 on Season 2, released his third recent single Friday, a song called “Did It Mean Nothing.” This one’s quite different and accompanied by a special-effect filled music video directed by Drip Drizza. Since September, Jamar’s also released “Togetherness” and “On God.”

Jordy Searcy, from Season 7, continues his string of impressive singer-songwriter releases with “Rich.” It’s a song about being rich in time spent together if not in worldly goods and marks the fourth single of 2019 from Jordy.
