Phillip Phillips’ new album to land in mid-May

0

Fans of Phillip Phillips can rejoice today.

The wait for his new album won’t be long at all.

Phillip Phillipa “Behind the Light” will be released on May 19, 19 Recordings/Interscope Records announced Friday.

That’s only about six weeks away and quick on the heels of Phillip’s new single, “Raging Fire.”

And it’s looking like “Raging Fire” will serve as a — forgive the pun — red hot lead single.

The song is sitting at 17 this week on the adult pop songs chart. That’s a nine-spot jump from just a week ago.

The album is produced by Gregg Wattenberg, who also produced Jason Castro’s debut album and has worked with Train, the Backstreet Boys and Ed Kowalczyk (yep, the former lead singer of Live).

The press release announcing the album says Phillip will be performing “Raging Fire” on Conan on Tuesday (11 p.m. EST).

And the video for the song will be released soon.
