He had to make some concessions, but apparently Adam Lambert’s concert in Malaysia went off without a hitch Thursday night.
Piror to the concert, American Idol’s season eight runner-up pledged to obey Malaysian government rules that forbade him from kissing anyone onstage — particularly one of his male musicians — during the concert.
The pledge didn’t prevent some from protesting with signs condemning the show, held in the city of Kuala Lumpur.
Here’s what Adam told The Associated Press earlier this week about his decision to tone down his show for the Malaysian audience.
“It’s something I’m doing out of respect. It’s just one little thing. Man kissing another man is something that government really doesn’t appreciate.
“I think it’s a tough decision to make, but to me, there are so many amazing fans in Malaysia that it’s more important for me to be able to come and do my show there for them and entertain them and thank them for supporting me.”
Judging from the photos The Associated Press provided from the concert, Adam did not make substantial changes to his typical glam rock concert attire.
