OK, I’m on the record predicting an Idol finale featuring Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips.
Jessica had an off night on Wednesday. But we’re at the stage of the competition where I think fans have locked in their favorite and won’t be swayed by one night of performances, especially on a night when no one delivered a true moment.
In my mind, that means Joshua Ledet’s the most at-risk contestant. He simply doesn’t seem to have the support of Jessica or Phillip.
Other predictions from Idol watchers. Check back. I’ll add more as they become available.
E! Online: Says Jessica Sanchez failed to “deliver one moment” last night and will pay the price, with Phillip and Joshua advancing to the finals.
DialIdol: The site that measures the busy signal says it’s just too close to call, with Phillip, Joshua and Jessica in the might-be-safe, might-be-gone zone. Phillip though, is closest to being declared safe.
Reality Wanted: Predicts Phillip is safe for sure, and that Jessica might pick up votes after Hollie’s elimination. That means Joshua will head home Thursday night.
Billboard.com: Also suggests Phillip will sail into the finale, leaving Jessica and Joshua to vie for the final spot. Picks Joshua as the contestant to go home because Jessica is more popular.
Starpulse.com: Says Joshua had a good night, Phillip nailed the pimp spot and Jessica was the most forgettable Wednesday. Predicts a Joshua-Phillip showdown with Jessica going home.
AmericanIdol.net: Predicts that Phillip is safe, that Joshua has been so strong that his elimination is impossible, leaving Jessica Sanchez as the contestant being eliminated tonight.
BuddyTV: Predicts Jessica will go home, leaving Idol with an all-male finale, just like in Season 8 and Season 7. Joshua and Phillip both got standing ovations Wednesday night, the site notes; Jessica did not.
DialIdol.com experts poll: Dial Idol also runs an expert poll on its forum, with input from about 30 avid Idol watchers. Phillip Phillips leads this week’s poll as the contestant who did best Wednesday night, followed by Jessica and then, very closely, by Joshua. So the expert panel is predicting Joshua’s ouster.
