Saves were added to The Voice knockout round for the first time in Season 14.

They allow a coach to rescue an artist from elimination by saving them, even after their knockout round partner has been declared winner of a match.

They came in handy Tuesday night, on the opening night of the Season 15 knockouts.

Jennifer Hudson used hers to keep Sandy Redd, one of just four singers to turn four chairs during the blind auditions.

And Adam Levine used his to save Radha after she delivered a sterling rendition of Mariah Carey’s “I’ll Be There.”

The knockouts continue Tuesday on The Voice. Here’s a look at the Monday night action in photos.
