The Voice finals continue Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
This week’s mission: Reduce the field of 10 finalists to just eight.
Team Shakira nearly got decimated last week, with Dani Moz and Tess Boyer both landing in the bottom three.
But Tess received the instant save. That means this week she’ll attempt to become the first instant save ever to survive the following week.
If you missed where all the contestants landed on iTunes last week, head here. Gotta admit, I was surprised by some of the results.
Meanwhile, here are the rankings for the Top 10. Last week’s rank appears in parenthesis.
1. Christina Grimmie (Team Adam, 1): One thing we learned from last week’s iTunes results is that Christina might not be a lock to win this thing after all, in spite of her overwhelming edge on social media. But she’s got Adam Levine for a coach. He knows how to win. And Christina’s his best shot at the Season 6 crown.
2. Sisaundra Lewis (Team Blake, 2): Blake has quite a vocal talent in Sisaundra. What Sisaundra needs are bold, surprising song choices from Blake — tunes she can slay that no one would expect her to sing. And I’m not suggesting that Blake dip deep into his country music songbook either.
3. Jake Worthington (Team Blake, 4): I’m still not sure Jake has the voice to win The Voice. But that heartfelt thank you to Blake at the end of the playoff round … and tearing up when he spotted his mom in the audience last week … moments like those are singing show gold.
4. Josh Kaufman (Team Usher, 5): The middle-aged guy from Indianapolis got the special treatment that goes with closing the show last week and capitalized on it, serving notice that he’s one of the most title-worthy males in the Season 6 cast. And he chalked up some iTunes bonus points as well.
5. Kat Perkins (Team Adam, 6): She sure sounded splendid on “Magic Man.” Adam should keep her rocking this week, but give her a song she can make more her own. Don’t even think about a change of pace. Talented Season 5 lady rocker Kat Robichaud tried that and lost all her momentum.
6. Bria Kelly (Team Usher, 3): Speaking of changing up songs, Bria did that last week with Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” I loved it; fans were pretty much lukewarm. The song ranked as the eighth most successful on iTunes the next day. My only complaint with Bria: Guitars should be played, not worn.
7. Kristen Merlin (Team Shakira, 11): Kristen got a standing ovation for showing so much composure during a mic malfunction in Top 12 week. But don’t forget, she was delivering a very, very nice version of Sugarland’s “Stay” before the sound cut out.
8. Delvin Choice (Team Adam, 7): It sure would be nice to see Delvin sing something current Monday night. I’m not sure he’s going to last long regardless of vocal frills if he keeps singing songs like “Let’s Stay Together” and “Unchained Melody.”
9. Audra McLaughlin (Team Blake, 10): I can’t help but root for a contestant from Philly, but Blake seems to see Jake as his best bet for the Season 6 crown, which makes Audra the third most coveted country singer on the show behind him and Kristen.
10. Tess Boyer (Team Shakira, 8): I’m not sure she belongs this low on the list; last week’s song choice (“I’ll Be There for You”) might have been the night’s most baffling. But thrice-saved Tess is bucking big odds. Not a single instant-save contestant survived the next week in Season 5, the first season the instant save was used.
