Team Blake Shelton dominated the cross battles.

Team Blake Shelton dominated the live playoffs.

And now Team Blake Shelton has three of the four spots in The Voice Season 16 finals.

Prediction: A Team Blake Shelton artist will not win the Season 16 title.

In fact, the biggest winner of this week’s instant save might have been Maelyn Jarmon, who was watching it play out, having already secured her spot in the finals.

Andrew Sevener’s save meant Maelyn will head into a final showdown with three Team Blake country singers.

Come Monday night, that means the show’s country fan base won’t join forces to support one artist. Instead, their votes will be split three ways.

Meanwhile, in addition to her own fans, Maelyn’s likely to pick up even more support from any Voice fans who aren’t happy with the way Season 16 has turned into the Blake Shelton show.

On with this week’s rankings.

1. Maelyn Jarmon (Team Legend) (1): Three other advantage for Maelyn. She has led on iTunes the last two weeks. She’s been the most streamed artist the last two weeks. And she’s been the most impressive vocalist all season on a show that’s supposed to reward the most impressive vocalist. Monday’s performance of “Stay” might have been Season 16’s best. As for that streaming bonus … let’s say 1,000 fans — just 1,000 — streamed Maelyn’s song 10 times each of the past two weeks. She’d enter the finale already holding at least an 80,000-vote edge over everyone else.

2. Dexter Roberts (Team Blake) (4): Dexter had himself one heck of a semifinals night. He took a song that I didn’t think would be an iTunes success (“Here Without You” by 3 Doors Down) — or even a very good song choice — and he slayed it. Then it was his vocal that stood out when he and teammate Gyth Rigdon performed “Hey Jude” later in the show. Combine that with his holdover fan base from the Idol days, and he’d be a likely winner if he was the only country singer in the finals.

3. Gyth Rigdon (Team Blake) (2): Gyth did not have an especially strong semifinals performance, but you’d never know it by looking at iTunes. His cover of “God Bless the U.S.A.” was the only song besides Maelyn’s to crack the Top 10. That marked the third straight week Gyth has finished among the top three from The Voice on the chart. Gyth might be wise to slow things down this week. Remember that live playoff cover of “I Want to be Loved Like That.” Now that was a superb Gyth Rigdon vocal.

4. Andrew Sevener (Team Blake) (7): Have I mentioned how much I hate this Voice format, and the fact that it includes just three weeks of finals? Probably a time or two or 20. Andrew’s the perfect example of why I hate it so much. Here’s a one-chair turn who’s shown dramatic improvement and brings unmatched passion to the stage every time he performs. Give him another two or three weeks to showcase what he can do, and he might rival those above him in fan support. But a three-week finals tilts the scale heavily in favor of artists who show up on The Voice with an already established fan base.
