Blake Shelton put two of his youngest singers up against one another in the battle round Tuesday night.
That mean Reagan James, 15, of Burleson, Texas, was pitted against Kensington Moore, 16, of Campbellsville, Ken. They were asked to sing “Team” by Lorde.
Kensington had to miss a key rehearsal because of kidney stones, but returned strong for a second rehearsal with Blake, convincing them the teens were just about even heading into the battle.
But Reagan wound up winning, thanks to unique vocals and strong stage presence. Adam Levine complimented her on looking like she’d been a pop star “for 20 years.”
She now advances to the knockout round.
Reagan attributed Adam’s comment to the fact that she simply feels at home on the stage.
Reagan said she’d never performed in front of a crowd as big as the studio audience for The Voice, let alone for a TV audience.
“All my life, I’ve sat at restaurants (performing) in front of a couple 10s of people,” she said. “When I did the blind audition, I completely let go, and I’ve never felt more at home than when I was on that stage.
“It’s doesn’t matter how old you are, when you’re at home, you’re at home. And I couldn’t tell you a place I love to be more than on that stage.”
But, while we’re talking about years, 15-year-old Reagan says she feels like she’s gained five years of experience just being around the more experienced and successful artists she’s met while competing on The Voice.

Kensington was not stolen during their battle round, so she was eliminated from the competition.
