Whether you loved or hated the fact that the judges used the save Thursday night on American Idol, the show sure treated it like a moment to celebrate.

Confetti fell. The other contestants swarmed Sam Woolf to offer congratulatory hugs.

And young girls screamed with joy.

Next up for the Idols: Songs from the 1980s, the first time Season 13 has taken such a step back in time.

Since not a single one of the remaining finalists was alive in the 1980s, this theme might as well be called Songs My Parents Liked.
