Paxton Ingram, a Top 8 finisher on Season 10 of The Voice, has released a debut EP.

Paxton Ingram was the very first singer we met on Season 10 of The Voice and went on to finish in the Top 8.

He just proved that was no fluke by releasing an impressive debut EP, “Recover.”

The six-track project includes “Sober,” a single he released last month, and an addictive lead track called “Barricade.”

But the vocal highlight comes when Paxton’s voice soars on a ballad called “Hands.” Check out the piano version of the song below.

Paxton is the former dancer who once appeared in a Britney Spears commercial. He’s only been singing seriously for about four years.

On The Voice, he made the surprise decision to join Team Blake Shelton after expressing a pre-audition preference for Pharrell Williams.

But he flourished under Blake’s tutelage, especially on Top 11 night when he performed “Break Every Chain” and topped all contestants on iTunes the next day, cracking the Top 20 on the singles chart and hitting number one on the Christian singles chart.

Speaking of iTunes, Paxton’s “Recover” cracked the Top 100 on the iTunes albums chart when it was released Friday.

Paxton reflected on his Voice experience during a recent interview with New Music Buzz, saying “the learning experience was really freaking phenomenal. I feel like I’m a completely new person from when I walked in for my blind audition.

“I feel more aware of who I am as an artist and more aware of what I want to say as an artist.”

Paxton and his engaging personality have returned to The Voice since, as a digital correspondent. You can check out his behind-the-scenes work with Season 10 champ Alisan Porter on The Voice YouTube channel.

You can follow Paxton through his Facebook page. On Twitter, he’s @ItsPaxton.
