Pre-taped playoff performance from members of Team Reba McEntire aired Monday night on The Voice.

At the end of the episode, Reba selected Aubrey Nicole as his choice to advance to the finals. Reba said she loves the emotion Aubrey brings to her performances and thinks she could win the hsow.

For the first time in Voice history, coaches are hand-picking finalists. The finals are set for Monday, Dec. 15 (performances) and Tuesday, Dec. 16 (results).

The other three other members of Team Reba are still eligible for a fan-voted spot in the finale.

Fans, who have always picked all of the shows finalists, will vote in two contestants this year.

Here are Voice Views song by song grades for Monday’s performances.

Aaron Nichols, 37, of Bakersfield, Calif., “Beer Never Broke My Heart” by Luke Combs: Aaron decides to go country rock with a shot in the finales on the line. Not thrilled with the song choice. Plucking heartstrings might have been a surer route to the finals. But I still think he’s the Team Reba singer with the best chance of winning the show. That was a rousing opening number. Snoop said he performed like a superstar. Reba said he did wonderful in rehearsals but this was the “cherry on top.”Grade: B

Ryan Mitchell, 25, of Los Angeles, Calif., “Undressed” by Sombr: Not sure about this song choice given he might need fan votes to make the final, but he’s staying true to his alt rock leanings. He delivered a nice glory note near the end of the song and delivered an all-around solid vocal. Reba said she loves what he’s bringing to the show and he keeps bringing more. Grade: B

Aubrey Nicole, 19, of Littlestown, Pa., “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles: Nice song choice by Aubrey, and certainly sounded in fine voice at the opening. Remember, she turned just one chair in the blinds. This was a self-assured performance, capped by an excellent ending. Naill says she deserves a spot in the finals. Reba said she owned the stage and called her “the perfect package.” Grade: B+

Peyton Kyle, 26, of Tampa, Fla., “Hold Back the River” by James Bay: This was easily my favorite performance by Peyton on The Voice. He sounded fabulous on the opening. And he certainly didn’t falter when the song swelled. Not sure he’ll advance on Team Country, but he certainly justified Reba’s decision to put him in the semifinals. Snoop liked the dynamics in his performance. Reba said he “has what it takes.”Grade: B+

The two artists I thought were the favorites going into the performances Monday were Aaron and Ryan. Both chose songs that I thought hurt their chances. They weren’t bad songs mind you, but I don’t think either song highlighted their voices. On the on the other hand, as you pointed out Mark, Aubrey and Peyton picked songs that allowed them to shine and show why they had made it this far. In the end, I thought Aubrey was a great choice. I hope America chooses any of the 3 guys on team Reba to continue on as well.
