Jeremy Beloate and Christina Eagle were granted spots in the semifinals for Team Snoop Dogg on The Voice Monday night.

Snoop advanced those singers after all five of his remaining contestants performed solos.

This season, singers advancing from the playoffs head directly to the semis, set for next Monday night.

That’s because producers made the inane decision to have just eight singers move on from the playoffs and have just two voting shows in Season 26.

That might sound odd to fans who watched Season 25, or nearly any past season of The Voice.

In the spring, The Voice had 16 fewer contestants, 40 compared to this seasons’s 56.

But 12 advanced from the playoffs, fans decided who would sing in the semifinals and there were three voting shows.

Team Reba also performed Monday. Team Michael Buble performs Tuesday night.

Here are song by song grades for Monday’s performances from Team Snoop:

Christina Eagle, 23, Catawba, N.C., “Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry: Loved Christina’s opening. She’s really getting into this performance with some great stage presence. Not sure it’s the best vocal she’s delivered, but she’s putting on a show. This, folks, she was just a one-chair turn in the blinds. Reba, who released this song, called it “incredible.” Snoop loved the confidence she showed on stage. Should she advance, I can see The Voice’s large country fan base rallying behind her. Grade: B

Aliyah Khaylyn, 23, Philadelphia, Pa., “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston: Aliyah provided a very pretty opening, showing off the richness of her vocals. But this song has been done to death and done to death a second time on singing shows. And if you’re going to sing it at this point, you’d better have the power to nail the big parts. Here, those parts of the song got a little shouty. She did come back and deliver a very nice ending. Reba said she loves her voice. Snoop said he saw “greatness” in that performance. Grade: B-

Austyns Stancil, 34, Oakland, Calif., “Adore” by Prince: Austyns’ been told by Snoop to stay in falsetto for the entire song. Let’s see if he does it. Just because you can doesn’t mean it’s a great idea. Austyns got incredible range, but I’m not sure the best way to show if off it to sing this high for the entire song. Didn’t really work for me, but I think Austyns deserves to advance. Michael called the performance “awesome.” Snoop said he “put on a helluva show.” Grade: B

Mikaela Ayira, 16, Johns Creek, Ga., “Love” by Keisha Cole: Mikaela has a nice tone and has done very well on the show at a very young age. But this song and performance was way too sleepy for the occasion. And when Mikaela went big midway through the performance … well, she didn’t exactly nail those moments. Reba called her performance “gorgeous.” Gwen said she “really shined.” Snoop called himself a proud uncle. Grade: C

Jeremy Beloate, 25, Memphis, Tenn., “Impossible Dream” by Josh Groban: Jeremy’s performance was leaked, so I’m a little surprised that The Voice is closing with it. I will say he’s delivering the best pure vocal we’ve heard from anyone on MOnday’s show. It’s going to be more frill-filled and theatrical than I’d prefer. But a great vocal is a great vocal. And the show is called The Voice. That ending, especially, was something special. Michael called it one of his favorite performances so far. Grade: A–

Let’s see, I think Snoop’s most likely to advance Jeremy, who he just stole, and Austyns, who was stolen in the battle round. Both turned four chairs in the blinds. Personally, my favorite Team Snoop performances came from Christina Eagle and Jeremy.

Snoop advanced Jeremy saying he’s a natural born live performer. He called him the best singer on Season 26.

Then he advanced Christina Eagle, which surprised me a bit. But her performance was one of my favorites tonight.

Snoop might have just made one of the best strategic moves of Season 26. Reba’s elimination of Katie O leaves Christina as the show’s only country singer. And she’s one solid performance from the finals.
