Team Gwen definitely got stronger during the battle round on The Voice.
Gwen Stefani managed to steal spunky pop singer Beth Spangler and country rebel Craig Wayne Boyd, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see both of them in the live rounds a couple of weeks from now.
Other Team Gwen favorites to advance would likely include Sugar Joans (brilliant battle round performance), John Taylor Williams (his blind audition rendition of “Heartless” was an iTunes hit) and Anita Antoinette, the only four-chair turn Gwen managed to lure to her team during those auditions.
Remember, four of the eight listed below will advance to those live rounds, along with the artist Gwen steals during the knockout round.
Here’s a look at all the Team Gwen contestants who will be competing in the knockout round. Follow the links and you’ll find a bio and pre-Voice videos for each singer.
Check back Monday when live blogging of Season 7 of The Voice continues.
Beth Spangler, 30, of Aiken, S.C., auditioned with Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had.” She was the last four-chair turn recipient we met in Season 7 and joined Team Adam. She lost her battle round match to another four-chair turn recipient — Mia Pfirrman — but was saved by Gwen. They sang “I Turn to You” by Christina Aguilera.
Bryana Salaz, 16, of San Antonio, Texas, auditioned with Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” showing off tons of potential and charisma. She turned three chairs. She defeated Gianna Salvato, who turned one chair in the blinds, during the battle round. They performed “Boom Clap.”
Anita Antoinette, 24, of Boston, Mass., auditioned with Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low.” She turned four chairs. During the battle round, she defeated Mayra Alvarez, who turned two chairs in the blinds. They sang Johnny Nash’s “I Can See Clearly Now.”
Ryan Sill, 20, of Sterling, Va., auditioned with OneRepublic’s “Secrets” and enticed two judges to turn their chairs. In the battle round, he defeated Jessie Pitts, also a two-chair turn recipient. They performed “I Need Your Love” by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding.
Troy Ritchie, 21, of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., sang “Out of My League” by Fitz and The Trantrums in the blind audition. Gwen was the only coach to turn around for his performance. In the battle round, he defeated Menlik Zergabachew. They performed “Maneater” by Hall and Oates.
Sugar Joans, 24, of Los Angeles, auditioned with “Chain of Fools,” displaying a nice rasp in her voice. She also turned two chairs. In the battle round, she squared off against another two-chair turn recipient, Jean Kelley. They turned in one of the best battles of Season 7, singing “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child. Sugar won, and Jean was stolen.
Craig Wayne Boyd, 35, of Nashville, Tenn., auditioned with Travis Tritt’s “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’.” He turned a pair of chairs. He lost his Team Blake battle round match to four-chair turn recipient James David Carter. But after a solid performance of Pat Green’s “Wave on Wave,” he was stolen by Gwen.
Taylor John Williams, 23, of Portland, Oregon, auditioned with a stripped-down version of “Heartless.” Two coaches turned around for his performances, which did very well on iTunes. In the battle round, he defeated Amanda Lee Peers. They performed Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

I have the sneakiest feeling that Anita was stolen or most unthinkable –she was knocked out –which would be a shame! –Hope not! Anita’s Facebook page has a pic with some fans and her hash tag simply said, #TeamAnita.
Gwen may have made the best pitch for her but I think she went with an untested coach which could lead to an early exit! However, not sure what I would have done in the moment as Gwen’s performance to get Anita on her team was extremely persuasive.
