And while three singers will advance based on overnight fan voting, one will be determined by an end-of-show instant save.
We’ll also see performances from Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins, Tones & I and former Voice contestant Kaleb Lee and Kelly Clarkson.
Go ahead and listen to Kaleb Lee, but I’d suggest everyone mute the TV for the other two performances and follow one of the links below to check out new music from other former Voice contestants.
The results
Advancing to the finals …
* Katie Kadan (Team Legend) (Team Legend) — Despite finishing fourth on iTunes, she advances.
* Jake Hoot (Team Kelly) (Team Kelly) — That’s a no-brainer. Number 1 on the overall chart. Number one on the country chart for the second straight week.
* Ricky Duran (Team Blake)(Team Blake) — I think I called that in my prediction blog. That means Blake once again has a finalist.
Competing for the instant save …
* Hello Sunday (Team Kelly)
* Kat Hammock (Team Blake)
* Rose Short (Team Gwen)
Heading home by default tonight …
* Marybeth Byrd (Team Legend)
* Will Breman (Team Legend)
Now, it’s time for the instant save performances …
Hello Sunday, Chandelier by Sia: Decent start by the two youngsters. But here comes the shouting and the off-key singing. Just as the song swells. Just as has happened in nearly every one of their performances. Started fine, became atrocious. Kelly begs for votes because they’re 14, which shouldn’t be a factor. Grade: D
Kat Hammock, You Just Call Out My Name by James Taylor: We’re going to get to hear Kat’s unique tone one last time. The start is very nice. But like Hello Sunday, she has trouble staying on key when the song swells and she goes for big notes. Still, I found that more pleasing than Hello Sunday’s shouting. Grade: C
Rose Short, You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman: This is more in line with what we’d expect from Rose. Gee, she’s singing in key. And showing off all that vocal firepower. Come on, folks, if she doesn’t win this it’s an absolute travesty. This isn’t even close. She’s going crazy on the ending, pouring voice and attitude into her performance. Grade: A
And the results are showing Rose well in front with 51 percent of the vote to 27 percent for Kat Hammock and 23 percent for Hello Sunday.
And the instant save goes to Rose Short!
Great job, Voice fans!
